Animation and VFX Alliance of BC Members Recognized This Awards Season

We want to congratulate members of our Alliance who have received nominations and wins this awards season. It’s been a challenging year for all of us, but BC studios and artists continue to deliver amazing work that is being recognized. 

Congratulations to Atomic Cartoons for their show Molly of Denali winning the 2021 Kidscreen Award for Best Inclusivity, and Mainframe Studios for their show Madagascar: A Little Wild winning Best New Series

Atomic Cartoons was also nominated for a Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Award for LEGO Jurassic World Isla of Nubar. 

Congratulations to Sony Pictures Imageworks for their four VES nominations including Outstanding VFX in an Animated Feature for “Over the Moon” and Outstanding Effects Simulation in a Photoreal Feature for “Mulan”, their Annie Award nomination for Best FX for Feature for “Over The Moon”, as well as their contributions to the Academy Award nominated work of “Mulan” and “Over The Moon”, the latter of which also received a Golden Globe nomination. 

Congratulations to Industrial Light & Magic for their multiple VES nominations including on four episodes of “The Mandalorian” Season 2, and a fifth nomination for Outstanding Created Environment for “Brave New World”.

Congratulations to DNEG for their BAFTA nomination and two VES nominations including Outstanding Compositing in a Feature for “Greyhound”.

Congratulations to Image Engine for their Annie Awards nomination for Best Character Animation (Live Action) and VES nomination for Outstanding Compositing in an Episode, both for their work on “The Mandalorian” Season 2.
